Tuesdays with Morrie

Sometimes you read a book that changes your life. This is one of them. I've almost finished reading Tuesdays with Morrie. Smelly lent it to me declaring it was his favourite book and life changing. I just took that as him over exaggerating. He wasn't. This book really does change the way you look at life. Morrie Schwartz was a truely insightful, brave and intelligent man who looked at life in a way so many of us miss. If we just lived the way he talked of in his dying months we'd all be so much happier. Without spoiling the book, here's one of many deep and enlightening quotes:

"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half asleep, even when they are busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."
