HOW much....?
It amazes me just HOW bad a cashier's mental maths can be... they handle money every day... all day...
Yet when you spend £7.22, and hand them a £20 note and 22p in change after they've punched in £20 into the till, and the display is telling them to give you £12.78, they stare at the change drawer like it's full of monopoly money... I could literally SEE the cogs in her brain whirring away trying to figure out how the shiny 20 pence piece and copper 2p had changed what she had to give me. I had to actually TELL her it was £13 change....
The orbital eye roll I attempted as I walked out the door put me in danger of requiring major ocular surgery...
