Banksy holiday weekend and the Cans festival

Sorry for the unusually long wait between posts! Well, obviously the biggest news is that Ken Livingston is out and the new Mayor of London is Boris Johnson (who incidentally I spotted in Trafalgar Square today swarmed by papparazzi as he visited some Indian music festival). To be honest, I think it's a case of swings and roundabouts with both candidates... whoever would have won wouldn't have delivered on their promises... after all, it's politics... so we'll see what kind of mess Boris makes of London.

For once the bank holiday weather hasn't been too bad. Saturday was a scorcher and me and my friend hit Oxford Street for a spot of retail therapy. Unfortunately that meant I ended up buying an £80 pair of Corioliss hair straighteners after being demo'ed on post new haircut in Debenhams... suckered in dammit! I did get a free hairdryer with them though so that kind of evens it out doesn't it?! Plus they're limited edition zebra print... ...

...But back to the haircut, I have had a LOT lopped off. Extremely short at the back, quite long at the front. As smelly put it, kind of gothic... I'll reserve judgement until I've had more opinions back at work!

Another highlight of the bank holiday so far weather aside, is that Banksy and some of his talented friends have installed an impromptu art exhibition in one of the disused Eurostar tunnels. It's a relief that the Waterloo Eurostar tunnels are being used for something, as the idiots in power have left them empty and disused since the Eurostar moved to Kings Cross. We didn't actually get to go all the way into the tunnel as the wait to get in was over an hour. Luckily we parked directly outside the exit so got a good view inside and I managed to get a few good photos of the spray can art that's been put up. There's some really good detailed pieces up there with some political and controversial topics. The exhibition is free to visit and runs until Monday.
