#spreadingpositivity

Facebook is a great platform for spreading and sharing information. Whether it's a personal status update, a blog post, photos or news stories, information you share or interact with is spread amongst your network... which is fantastic for keeping in touch or up to date. But there's also a problem. Every time you like a piece of content, that content is shown on your newsfeed and is exposed to your network... whether that's good or bad, joyful or hateful. That's why the past year I made a decision to try and address the balance and only interact with positive content. Stories that restore faith in humanity, which are humorous or happy. Don't get me wrong, I still post the odd update complaining that the other half didn't do the dishes, or that I'm fed up of asking for a seat on the train, but on balance I try and share more positivity than negatively. Things like the Sikh who removed his turban to help save a critically injured child and well wishers furnished his flat as a thank you http://mashable.com/2015/05/26/sikh-man-turban-young-buy/ or the restaurant diner who left staff a $2000 tip http://mashable.com/2015/05/27/restaurant-2000-dollar-tip/?utm_cid=mash-com-fb-main-link. Or the Good Deed Feed in the Metro newspaper...

If everyone spread a little bit of happiness instead of doom and gloom, maybe life would be a little sweeter... :)
