Pen obsession...
Yes, it's a guy thing, evidently... my boyfriend and my Dad share a love of pens, brows furrowed with seriousness as they discuss the merits of a Mont Blanc over a Bic. Perhaps it's in that guy only category, along with shoe trees and ties, another two male obsessions that baffle me. But in Hong Kong, they've taken writing utensil facination to another level... with the Pen Spinning World Tournament! What I always thought of as an irritating, subsconsious nervous habit has become a recognised sport in Hong Kong. Perhaps not a skill that will get you into the next Olympics though.
Go on, admit it, after watching the clip below, you're fingers are itching to give your roller ball a twirl as you sit at your desk right now... it CAN'T be that difficult right?!
Oh, and another thing, is it a pre-requisite that to enter you must have disgustingly long finger nails? I'm guessing all the entrants spend so much time twiddling with their little pens that they don't meet girls, hence the discussion about how a guy's nails should never be longer than their girlfriends never arises... ick.

I never thought about pen spinning as a talent, but their dedication to it is incredible.
As the mother says in that video, it's definitely a good spirit to have.
Cool story!
