Finally a home owner!

Yes, I have finally taken the leap from tenant to grown up person with a huge mortgage, and bought my first home with my boyfriend! EEP! We completed on the 13th May but only moved in this weekend as there was a LOT of decorating to do (hence the lack of blog posts, apologies!).

Who knew buying a home could be so stressful, tiring, hard work (physically!), expensive and yet rewarding. Who knew that you could spend over £100 JUST on curtain poles! Who knew that you have to hang your first sheet of wallpaper using a spirit level or you end up with wonky walls?! Yes, we are now pros at decorating (with a lot of help from my Mum and Dad! Thank god for parents ey?!). While on the subject of helping hands, a big thank you to my parents for helping us out with so much througout the purchase (we ended up crashing at theirs a lot longer than intended thanks to a rubbish managing agency with no concept of deadlines). Also to all my uncles and aunties who have donated pretty much all of our furniture, especially Uncle Malcom who not only gave us 90% of the furniture we now own, but also arranged our carpet refit and come over with the van to move the big bits! We're really really grateful!!!

Anyway, just to show off our DIY skills, here's some before and after shots!

Our bedroom... icky red walls and manky red threadbare carpet...

During... Dad stripping wallpaper...

And after... ta daa!! very green... lol

Our small room/study (oops and my Popo in the shot!)
