Got to love my mum... hubs as well!
Got to love my mum...
Mum and dad were over tonight and I suggested we play a board game. Mum takes a turn to draw an item for dad to guess... using no letters, words or symbols. Not sure she really grasped the rules...
I was in stitches! Not as funny as her doing the charades round, trying to act out the words David Beckham though. It involves lots of pointing at her wedding rings and gesticulating at her groin area......... (Golden balls. Get it?!). Only she couldn't mime it properly as she was too busy wetting herself laughing!
Then we were watching TV and the EE ad with Kevin Bacon comes on. "I know he's been in loads of films, but I can't think of any other than Tremors" I say.
Mum, "oh wasn't he in Transformers?". I raise an eyebrow and dad chuckles knowingly.... "Oh, no you know, that film, where he melts". Think this is testament to how well we know mum, as Dad and I both know who she means but watching her flounder is too funny so we let her continue. "You know, the man who is metal and melts....".
"You mean the guy in Terminator. No mum. That's not Kevin Bacon".
Mum's response. "Oh. Well, I don't care. I don't like him anyway. He's ugly". Riiiiiight. Like that makes you completely confusing Kevin Bacon with Robert Patrick. Kind of see where she's coming from though. They do have the same shaped head?!
She's on a roll tonight though. Xfactor comes on. Sam sings "my heart will go on" from Titanic. Mum pipes up... "Oh, who was it that sang that? Claudia...." at which point I start crying with laughter. I can't take much more of this! HAHA.
Mum wasn't the only source of humour tonight though. Playing Cranium with hubs on my team is TOUGH. Charades is difficult, to put it nicely. His idea of acting out "Margaret Thatcher" was to pretend he was ironing.... yes HUH?!?! He calmly explained afterwards he was trying to act out "the Iron Lady".... then there was his drawing of a double chin... where he drew what I thought was hair on a head... until he explained it was a chin and he was drawing it from my perspective as I was sat opposite him! Seriously....! How do these people's brains work?!?!
