7500 customers sell their soul to GameStation

Always read the small print. We know it, but we don't do it. How many of us have had email notifications that the terms and conditions of our credit card contract has changed, and hit delete? How many of us have gone online to buy something, registered with an online shop, and just automatically ticked the 'accept' box without reading the T&C's? Well, 7500 of GameStation customers did exactly that, and unknowingly sold their soul to the online retailer.

GameStation wanted to see how many people actually read the small print, and inserted a new clause into their terms and conditions, which stated that:
“By placing an order via this Web site on the first day of the fourth month of the year 2010 Anno Domini, you agree to grant Us a non transferable option to claim, for now and for ever more, your immortal soul. Should We wish to exercise this option, you agree to surrender your immortal soul, and any claim you may have on it, within 5 (five) working days of receiving written notification from gamestation.co.uk or one of its duly authorised minions.”
Of course, no one read the clause, and skipped through just ticking accept, committing themselves to eternal damnation in the depths of hell, and missing out on a £5 voucher for spotting it and declining. A telling exercise to remind us all to read what we're agreeing to before we tick that accept box!

Obviously, GameStation is not the devil, and won't come to claim what is rightfully theirs on judgement day for those 7500 unwary shoppers... or will they... muahahahahahahaaaaaa....
