Back from Morocco
Noooo!!! I just typed this whole entry (which took me ages) and then the browser closed itself! So now I have to type it all over again!!!!! AGGHH
Ok, well I'm finally back from hols... what a hectic week I've had! We flew outto Spain to see Mum and Dad and arrived at the flat after midnight. The next day we set off for Morocco. We had a 2 hour drive to Aljiciras, a 20 min coach ride to Tarifa, a 30 min ferry ride to Tangiers in Morocco, then a 7 hour coach ride to Fes! We stayed at the Fes Inn Hotel which was really nice if a bit far out from anywhere. The first full day we were there we had a guide take us out around Fes. She took us into the Medina (Old part of Fes) and into the market which was pretty scary. We went to a tannery which was amazing, a weavers where they made silk and cotton, a herbalists, a potters where they made ceramic plates and mosaics and we had lunch at this plush palace which you could have easily walked straight past if you didn't know where it was! We also we went to a carpet sellers and a carpentry museum. There was a world music festival on in Fes at the time and we went to see Japanese drummers which was really good. The day after we went to see Yungchen Lhamo, a Tibetan singer who made a lot of people cry with her voice. She sang amazingly and made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up! The rest of the time there we spent by the radioactively green swimming pool. We did venture out into Fes once but got lost and it was pretty scary!
When we got back to Spain we celebrated Dad's 60th in Vincentes. The the boys had to go and watch the first England match of the world cup! Then we flew back home to England.
Yesterday we went to the Bon Jovi concert which was great. Gates openedat 2:30 but the concert didn't start until 7:30 which we hadn't realised so we were pretty hungry (and burnt as it was really hot and we hadn't planned to be out in the sun all day) by the time they came on. They played a mix of old and new which was good.
Now I'm back home and have spent the day washing clothes, unpacking, food shopping and uploading all the photos I took! So tired now... and the other half is now fast asleep on the sofa...
