The Festive Fashion Hunt
With the Christmas party season fast approaching, us girls are thinking about that all important outfit for the Christmas party. However, finding that ideal dress can lead to a lot of traipsing from one store to another resulting in one very hot, flustered and empty handed party girl. We all know there's nothing worse than a failed shopping mission! Whilst hunting for my own holy grail of festive-wear online I came across Gok's body shape guide, perfect for getting clued up on what will suit me and what won't before hitting the high street. Do you know your body shape do's and don't? Take a look here.
Now that you're an expert on what not to wear, you can finally pound the pavement in search of that million dollar outfit. All things considered, Christmas credit crunch and all, you're not going to want to spend a bomb to look the bomb, so here's a few ideas to pinch the pennies and still knock them dead at the office party!
The Puff Ball/Prom Dress
There seems to be a wash of puff ball and prom dresses in the shops at the moment, ideal for petite ladies! If you have slightly bigger hips and thighs, this style of dress is perfect for you pretty pear shapes. Cinch yourself in round the waist and skim those bits you want to hide! ASOS.com and New Look have some great dresses for under £35, so you won't break the bank. Dorothy Perkins also has a sunny yellow prom, which comes recommended by style queen Gok Wan, perfect for adding some sunshine to the winter blues.

Don't fade into the background! The 80's day glo look is still hot, and the shops have loads of dresses screaming to be bought in neon colours. ASOS has a great shocking pink pocket dress for £32 which not only ticks that 80's box that's hot right now, but has great pocket detail. River Island also has a orange beauty for a little bit more, complete with sexy mono strap for added support.

The Little Black Dress
Every girls has one, the safety net of outfits. But just because it's one shade of noir, doesn't mean they all look the same. Any size and shape, a black dress is ideal for hiding those lumps and bumps you hate to show. Long, short, tight or floaty, there's a multitude of dresses out there for any size and shape. New Look's strapless drop pocket dress is a bargain at £25 and is a great shape for hippy girls. If you're not happy showing off your shoulders, ASOS's vero moda dress is ideal, with capped sleeves and piping detail, at a sip for £35. If lipstick and lace is your thing, Tesco (an unlikely place to shop but we ARE heading for a recession here!) has a great little lacey number for a bargain £35.
